When I post pics of the little man in his nursery, I typically receive messages/ comments asking that I blog the final product! 🙂

Seven months later… we have a nursery. Well, seven months later, I finally took pictures!
We didn’t do much nesting before Henry’s arrival. My nesting was making sure both cars were spic ‘n span (and eating cake!). We we’re brining Henry home to a 400 square foot apartment (temporary home, while our new home was under construction). We had a sofa, a rocker (not sure how we squeezed that in there), a bassinet and a bed. There was no space, it wasn’t cute and it certinaly didn’t scream “baby”. I’m sure most people poked fun at my week-by-week pregnancy blog posts, but that’s what I considered my “nesting”. During my “nesting” phase I also started designing our sons nursery. You probably recall all of my crazy story boards. I’m a visual person and that was the x-designer in me coming out.
I wanted to create something light, bright, little-boy’ish and that somewhat reflected “us”. We love the beach, my hubby bleeds Carolina blue (go Heels!), and for those who know him, know he’s a lover of seersucker… that’s where the blue and white stripe wallpaper comes into play. As much as I wanted an all white nursery (go figure!), we decided to give our little fella some color. Side note: no, we don’t let him sleep with the pillows and most of the time I “make his bed”. I also understand that soon (very soon!) the decor on his shelves won’t be perfectly in place. For now, I’m enjoying how it is.
I really do love how his nursery turned out. Is it more traditional than I ever thought I’d go. Once it started unfolding, I began to discover how much I truly love traditional home decor. 🙂
The best part of the nursery, is the little man that is always tuckered out in his crib. I just love that kid!
xo!

It turned out pretty close to how I imagined!
My Dad’s wife made a beautiful piece of artwork for Henry’s nursery (white frame). We were also given a piece of art that my grandmother made before she passed (blue frame). Those will be hung (once I replace the blue frame to match the white frame) above the rocker.
[…] We’ve made so many memories in this little space of his… from nursery days, to the can’t-sleep-won’t-sleep-lay-in-bed-for-hours-until-he-finally-falls-asleep-days… whew! Anyways, I just realized I have yet to share his cute little room! More room details to come… I’ll do a separate post. BUT you can view his nursery post here. […]
